Too much Space? Rent it out
Many businesses are facing dismal sales and business cannot be worse. If you happen to own the place where your business is operating in, and you see it performing at half capacity, why not consider renting out half the space to other businessmen who may be in the same predicament. People who are renting commercial spaces might be in need of the same space as you, but you having your own building are at an advantage, they don’t have to deal with rent that can stay the same and even increase even with their business slowing. Get ads out to see if any companies that have the same field of specialization or related ones are out for space and talk to them about your deal.
Your space can easily be converted into two businesses with the widespread availability of partitions that can be installed easy. That way, you get additional income and still manage to keep the business, using the money you get for rent to cover the overhead expenses. It would be a good idea to get separate meters for the gas and water if you both agree. That way, no conflict about costs arise in the long run and you both benefit from your partnership towards the same goal, surviving.
