Securing your Doors
Commercial spaces are some of the most vulnerable real estates around especially when they are more or less offices that close after a certain hour. Though they may cost quite a lot, some additional door security gadgets can greatly improve your security and that of your tenants as well. Have glass films that check for breaks to deter thieves and vandals from breaking in making sure to attach decals (TIP: Even a decal alone may be enough to deter amateurs but for professionals, they know the real thing) that states such security measures. Doors and windows can be secured in this manner with some door chains or electromagnetic locks that automatically open during emergencies for more security. Wood doors can be secured by door bolts that makes the door part of the door-jamb preventing hinges from being lifted. Solid door bolts or keyed-deadbolts that have keys for entry and exit are better than simple door knobs that can be easily defeated.
Upgrade your doorknobs with biometric ones that can be accessed through three ways, fingerprint scanners, keys and a keypad, any of which can be used for access. Fake security cameras are also an added security measure that looks as good as the real thing. Door viewers are also good additions to any door that allows you to see the outside of the door before you exit. If the access door is at an angle, install corner mirrors that allows you to see what’s beyond the corner before you get there. With these simple security measures, you lessen the chances of your property being vandalized or robbed giving you and your tenants peace of mind.
